| Particulars: I am organising a visit to the island of our ancestors (Bonaventure Island) outdoor event day on August 9, 2009.
I would like to know if you can give me some help in contacting other members of your family or any descendants of any of the other families.
I am also interested in organising a photo exposition on the human aspect ( those who once lived there) of the island.
The photo exposition could be in a café in Montreal in July and transferred to Percé for the month of August. The café proposed has accepted my idea and so has the SEPAQ.
Would you have any ideas or photos that you could share to help with the realisation of this project.
My objective is to unite the descendants (including families and friends),promote and share the pride of our past.
I would appreciate your comments or suggestions
Sincerely
Brian Brochet

| Town/Village/Area: unknown |
| Primary Family Names: Grenier |
| Secondary Family Names: |
| Time Period: 1880- |
| Particulars: my aunt had once informed me that Grandpa Alexander(?)Grenier was originally from the Gaspe region. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in the lumber camps,he met and married a swampy cree woman,Katherine(b:1892)from Moosefactory,Ontario.
She also stated that Uncle Alex was a Jr. that's why I am looking at Alexander as my Grandfathers name. His name and family history is lost to me and cannot get through information roadblocks when trying to seek my family roots. If I even had his birthdate it would help me but I know next to nothing of him other than his surviving childrens names were Alex Jr., Marie,Theresa,Lawrence Simon Grenier(my father) born in 1932 or 33 who was also the baby of the family.Grandpa Grenier's parents and siblings are completely unknown to me sorry, can you help? I do remember my father once stating that he had traced the family back to southern France,Marsielle I believe, but I don't remember where or how he found that info. |
