Gaspe Connection: grandfather |
Town/Village/Area: Cap Chat |
Primary Family Names: Dionne |
Secondary Family Names: |
Time Period: 1876-1942 |
Particulars: Grandfather, Stanislais Dionne, born Cap Chat March 17, 1876. Had brothers Freddy, Ernest and Joseph Dionne. I met many cousins in 1946, when I was 6, can't remember any names. The family was in the family fishing busines. I remember large racks of cod drying on the beach. I could look out the front windows and see the ocean, across the street. Freddy visited family in Massachusetts in the 60's and said that the family was still in the fishing business, but I was unable to understand French, none of the Canadian family spoke English. My father's name was Joseph, born 1909 in Massachusetts. Any info appreciated. |
