Gaspe Connection: Father Francis Whitmore Morris and antecedents |
Town/Village/Area: Petit Pabos |
Primary Family Names: Morris |
Secondary Family Names: Lebreux |
Time Period: 1800-2000 |
Particulars: We are working on our family tree since 1997. We have acquired a copy of our first ancestor's land claim from the National Archives in Ottawa. Our first known ancestor in Canada was Jasper Morris who submitted a land claim in 1824 for a lot located at Anse à Beaufils. We have a copy of his marriage certificate to Joanna O'Neil, his death certificate and have located his gravesite at St. Joseph's Church at Cap d'Espoir. We have a pretty accurate genealogy from Jasper Morris' descendants to today. We are interested in finding information about Jasper's parents William Morris and Margaret Prendegast of Ireland, possibly Mayo Co. We have hit a wall trying to find information in Canada. Perhaps that some users of your site could help. |
