| Particulars: Duncan McRae came sometime between 1760 and 1790. Others came since then up to the 1900s. Blackie, Chisholm, Cochrane, Cooke, Ferguson, Hamilton, Martin, McColm, McGee(McGie), McRae, Powell, Power, Richie, Watt are surnames I am directly descended from. I am related to most every one in the pennisula through marriage. It is the secondary lines and more on them I am particularly interested in as I sometimes have only one ancestor beyond a great(xxx?)grandmother. Direct descendant of Gilbert MacWhirter that came several times between 1825 & 1831 and then stayed there in New Richmond. His brother John also settled in area. Gilbert James McWhirter moved family to Hopetown. Angus Campbell brought family to Black Cape in 1820s, including Donald A. who I am descended from. Have lots of info to share and some sources to refer to and lots still to learn. Lived in Hopetown very briefly before starting school and visited every summer for many years growing up. Sister graduated from New Carlisle High School in 1972. |

| Particulars: John McLelland, my grt grt grt grandfather, born Old Luce, Wigtownshire, Scotland 18 Sept 1781.
Married Agnes Gardner approx 1830 who was born 1801 Renfrewshire
John appears in the UK 1841 census living in Old Luce, with Agnes and 3 children George, John, Peter, but not in 1951, although Agnes and the youngest child Peter did.
My research using another family tree suggests that a John Mclelland died in Canada 1851

| Particulars: Robert Stiles was born in Middlesex, New Brunswick and after the 1951 census he disappeared. He is my Grandmother's Uncle. I was given his obiturary recently and he was a judge in Matapedia. He started as a school teacher. Married a girl named Mary and had at least six kids. He was a deacon across the boarder at the Baptist church in Campbelton. But his funeral was conducted at the Methadist church in Matapedia. Died 1916 |
