Gaspe Connection: birth parents born in Newport and Pabos Mills
Town/Village/Area: Newport, Chandler, Gaspe
Primary Family Names: Lantin, LeBlanc, Cyr
Secondary Family Names: Tremblay, Beaucamp (Beauchamp)
Time Period: 1925-1960
Particulars: I was born in April 1959 in Chandler Hospital, Chandler QC to Jeannine LeBlanc (unknown birth date). I was told she was very young when I was born. She and my birth father, Daniel Lantin (born Jan 3, 1925), were not married at the time. I was adopted in July 1959 by an American family (last name Casey). Unknown if I have siblings; maybe first cousins? Would be interested in knowing more about birth family and the circumstances surrounding my birth and adoption. The Casey family provided me with a good home and I was well taken care of. I am thankful for the life I have had and know that my birth parents made the right decision - it must have been difficult for them. If anyone is out there I wish you well and hope to maybe connect. Sincerely, Joseph-Jerome LeBlanc (adopted name Thomas Casey)
