Gaspe Connection: G-grandparents born there
Town/Village/Area: Kempt Road
Primary Family Names: Noble, Dickson
Secondary Family Names: McAlister, Gagnon
Time Period: 1820-1890
Particulars: I'm looking for information about my gggrandfather, James Noble, and particularly my ggrandmother, Jane McAlister, his first wife. She died around 1850. Their son John was born at Kempt Road in 1834 and in 1870 married Sarah Dickson, daughter of George Dickson & Sarah Phillips, also born in Restigouche in 1834. A listing in the 1871 census for Restigouche shows her two sons by previous marriages, (George)Joseph Robertson, later George J. Noble, and Julien Gagnon, later Julian G. Noble, b. about 1858. If anyone has information on Sarah's husbands Robertson or Gagnon, I'd be interested. I'd be happy to share what information I've gotten from church & census records as well as family history. I'd also be happy to hear from other Noble & Dickson connections.

Gaspe Connection: Mother is from Douglastown
Town/Village/Area: Douglastown
Primary Family Names: Kennedy
Secondary Family Names:
Time Period:
Particulars: It is believed that William Kennedy came to Douglastown from the U.S. in the fall of 1784 or the spring of 1785. He was born in 1740 and married Catherine Mary Butler on December 8, 1762 in Suffolk Co, Massachusetts. I have all the information I need on his descendants up until today, but know nothing about his own parents. It would appear that the first Kennedy of this lineage travelled to the U.S. from Ireland in 1680.

Secondary Family Names:
Time Period: 1850s - 1900s
Particulars: My great, great grandfather's death certificate and marriage certificate both say born in Gaspe, Quebec. Most of the ages given put him born at about 1861. The only other information given is the name of his father James Kenney. He is stated to be a farmer of Gaspe, Quebec and to have been born in Ireland.
